Getting Started

Do I need to create a budget?

While you can track expenses (scan or dictate) even without a budget, you won’t be able to see how much you have left. So it is highly recommended to create a budget.

How does Receipt Scanning work?

  1. Lay your receipts down on a flat surface
  2. Press “scan” button on the Olivia app
  3. Wait until the relevant information is captured on the expense tracker

How does Dictate work?

  1. Press the ‘mic’ icon on the Olivia app
  2. Say something like “Olivia, I spent 200 pesos on milk tea today”
  3. See the information captured on the expense tracker

What is a Freedom Fund?

Your Freedom Fund comes from two sources

  1. Under-spending versus your budget, or
  2. Extra income from gigs or side jobs.

A Freedom Fund does not replace your savings — you still need to set savings targets monthly.

What can I do with my Freedom Fund?

You can create a wish list and the Olivia app will notify you when an item is fully funded.

The Receipt Scan doesn’t work.

Please check that :

  • The receipt is clear /not faded.
  • The receipt is not crumpled.
  • There is adequate lighting.


How safe is the Olivia app?

All credential information is highly encrypted and remains in a closed system which means no one, including our own employees can decrypt the password. The Olivia app can save a password or delete it, but it cannot read one.

How is my data stored?

Your data is stored in the cloud and is encrypted in the database server.

How do I change my username/email address on file?

To update the username/email :

  1. Log in to our website:
  2. Click “Settings”.
  3. From the Personal section, update the E-mail Address.
  4. Click Done.

How do I delete my account entirely?

To permanently delete your account from Olivia:

  1. Log in to our website:
  2. Click “Settings”.
  3. Click “Delete My Account”.
  4. Complete the Word Verification, click Delete.
